Since 1991 Director of Advocates International (1997–2002 Chairman and since 2008 Vice Chairman), 2001–2004 Chairman of Advocates Europe, since 1991 Chairman of The John Newton Project, 1969–1983 Administrative Secretary/Treasurer of World Evangelical Fellowship (now the World Evangelical Alliance) Theological Commission, 1980–2008 WEF/WEA Treasurer, early 1980s Founder member of the WEF Communications Commission (now ICMC), since 1980 Member of the WEF/WEA International Committee (now Council) and Member of the WEF/WEA Executive Committee, since 1992 Chairman of the WEF/WEA Religious Liberty Commission and 1997–2005 Chairman of Care for Children (working with orphans in China).

John Langlois was awarded as an OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) by Her Majesty the Queen 2005 for services to the community and charitable work, including work with the WEA.

He is married and has two adult sons.
